Researchers
This site is dedicated to my parents:
William Joseph Knittle Sr
&
Lahlee Duggins
I am Susan Quentine Knittle-Hunter, the creator and coordinator of 'Knittle and Duggins Genealogy.' This site was originally created as a Surname Resource Center (SRC), and was hosted by genealogy.com. It was designed to be a central location for Knittle and Duggins researchers to obtain information about their ancestors and to connect with their 'cousins' on the same quest. Unfortunately, a few years ago genealogy.com became a read-only site and they no longer host the SRCs.
Due to an old and difficult to use server, we have chosen to change servers and update this site. It is no longer an SRC but we are here to continue to gather and share our information.
Genealogists may freely use this information but please include us as a reference in your work. Information on this site may not be copied for commercial use of any kind without written permission.
This genealogy site is a work in progress. Please check back often for updates. If you have information you would like to have included or if you find a mistake please contact us.
I have been researching the Knittle family genealogy for nearly 50 years. I have searched through German records, spent time in libraries going through Census Records, books, city directories, films and microfiche and exchanged information with many wonderful Knittle cousins. I have shared everything I found and am proud of my work.
I have also researched all of the Knittle allied families as well. I have added information and photos on several of these lines including Sommer, Amrhein and Sponhouse.
**Recently, I discovered through DNA that I have not a drop of Knittle blood in me. My grandfather, Harry Emerson Knittle was adopted by Emerson Ellsworth Knittle and Sophia Sponhouse.**
Due to this information and because the Knittle name is only my adopted name, at this time I will not be adding any new information, photos, data or more about the Knittle Family.
The DNA indicates that my actual paternal family name is 'Fay' and my Fay line and allied family data is below.
As I get new information on my actual blood family lines I will add that information here. The DNA indicates that the new family names are Fay and Weasner and other related allied families names are Fredericks and Miller.
I have been researching the Duggins family genealogy for nearly 50 years. I have searched through every type of record, spent time in libraries going through Census Records, books, city directories, films and microfiche and exchanged information with many wonderful Duggins cousins. I have
shared all of my findings, documents, photos and more here
and on Ancestry.com.
I also have researched all of the Duggins allied families as well. I have added information and photos on several of these lines, including Alsup, Critchfield, Hill and Turner. I will be adding more allied lines in the future.
My search continues daily for more information and trying to break through my brickwalls. As I find new information I will share it and as I find mistakes I will correct them.
Please check back often for updates. If you have information you would like to have included or if you find a mistake please feel free to contact me.
